Of course, everything that could go wrong did. I burned the sauce, the smoke alarm wouldn't stop shrieking, and when I rushed to save the tiramisu, I knocked the whole thing off the counter. When she knocked on the door, I was standing there covered in flour and tomato sauce, looking like I'd been through a war. She took one look at me, then at the disaster behind me, and just burst out laughing. 'Okay, what's the backup plan?' she asked, trying not to laugh too hard. I sheepishly pulled out my phone. Our first camping trip was going perfect until the weather turned bad. What started as light rain turned into this crazy storm. Our cheap tent was leaking everywhere.
